Videre Architects and Surveyors is a partnership made up of an Architect and Building Surveyor with a shared passion for xxxxxxxx and designing xxxxxxxxxxxx. Mention Stephen here…….

Between us, we have a breadth of diverse knowledge having worked in both smaller practices and larger multi-disciplinary practices across London and Southeast England. The team have worked on schemes that have ranged from private one-off houses to 1000’s of homes for larger national house builders and as a result, we understand that each project requires a different approach. We are always ready with our pens and pencils to start the journey, no matter how big or small.

The experiences gained individually have shaped us as people meaning every member of the team brings their own knowledge, background and thinking to each project. These perspectives allow us to challenge both ourselves and the projects we are involved with while continuing to be ambitious.

Both James and Kayleigh have strong Somerset roots, having grown up locally. Their love for the area and natural environment continues to influence their decisions and approach to architecture. Having both met during their careers when working together in McBains, they have always brought together their passion and principles into the practice.

    James is a chartered building surveyor in the UK and established Videre Architects and Surveyors in 2024 after working as an Associate Director for one of London’s leading property and construction consultancies, McBains. Prior to this, James worked in ……… providing him with an esteemed benchmark for Building Surveying.

    James graduated from the University of Kingston with a Bachelor of Science with Honours and went on to gain his professional qualification as a full member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

    Outside the office, James enjoys long morning runs and taking on small projects including home DIY and tinkering with his car. Being a car enthusiast he enjoys attending car events and planning towards his next challenge.

    Kayleigh is a registered Architect in the UK and established Videre Architects and Surveyors alongside James Freeth in 2024 after working as a Project Architect within a multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy, McBains. Prior to this, Kayleigh started her career in some of London’s reputable studio’s, including Chapman Taylor Architects, Pod Architects and Arc Architects part of Riley Consulting, where her passion for architectural design and interiors advanced.

    Kayleigh graduated from the university of Portsmouth with a Masters of Architecture with hons, and completed her professional registration as a qualified Architect at Greenwich University.

    Outside the office, Kayleigh is inspired by travelling, photography and enjoys running, long walks and mountain hiking, her favourite location in the UK being the Lake District. Being a creative person, Kayleigh loves spending her spare time organising events for family and friends, to achieve the perfect moment and a continued memory.

    Outside the office, Stephen enjoys travelling and has a keen eye for photography and drawing. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and using his built up knowledge to teach and mentor his own children.
